About Us

Ashraya Charitable Trust

Our NGO's work is crucial as it empowers vulnerable communities, promotes social justice, and addresses critical issues like child marriage and poverty, fostering a brighter and more equitable future.

The Ashraya Dhama in Maddur, Mandya district, was founded with the noble intention of providing shelter to three homeless children, leading to the establishment of the Ashraya Charitable Trust (ACT) in early 1997. Over the past 27 years, ACT has successfully housed more than 180 children, many of whom are now leading fulfilling lives. The organization goes beyond basic needs, offering food, shelter, and clothing to orphaned children. Additionally, ACT extends its support to the elderly and marginalized women in society, addressing various social issues. Through its comprehensive approach, ACT is dedicated to uplifting and empowering those in need, creating a positive impact in the community.

Ashraya Shelter Home in Maddur

We operate the Ashraya shelter home in Maddur, providing a safe haven for children in need. To date, approximately 180 children have benefited from our comprehensive support services. Our programs focus on offering food, shelter, education, and emotional care to foster their growth. We aim to empower these children with the skills and confidence they need for a brighter future. Through our dedicated efforts, we strive to transform their lives and create a nurturing environment for their development.

Education Support to Homeless Children in Maddur

In Maddur, we are dedicated to providing quality education to homeless children through the Ashraya shelter home. Our programs focus on creating a nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and access the resources they need to succeed. By enrolling them in schools and offering tutoring support, we aim to empower these children for a brighter future. Through education, we are breaking the cycle of poverty and giving them the tools to lead independent lives.

Drinking Water Facility under Go Green Project

On October 18, 2024, we organized a drinking water facility at the Maddu High School ground in Maddur town, Mandya, as part of our Go Green Project. This initiative aims to provide accessible and safe drinking water to students and the local community. The project reflects our commitment to promoting health and sustainability in the region. By ensuring clean water access, we hope to enhance the well-being of the community and support a healthier environment for future generations.

Trust Building Inauguration

A brand new building for Ashrayadhama was inaugurated for the inmates of the trust. Its is about 2500sq ft with all infrastructure and amenities.

Shelter for Homeless

Referred by the Tahsildar and Health Department of Maddur, homeless individuals were brought to Ashrayadhama, where they were provided with shelter and food as residents.

Sheltar for homeless

The above person who was a beggar was brought to Ashrayadhama was given food and shelter and personal cleanliness was taught.

Food distribution to Slum dwellers

Food packets were distributed to the slum dwellers in Maddur by local people inspired by the work of Ashrayadhama Trust. About 100 people were benefited.

Lighting the Lamp

As per Prime MInister Sri Narendra Modi's Call to the Nation, the inmates in Ashradhama lit the lamps to show respect to corona warriors and to fight against corona.

Food Distribution

During the trial times of COVID-19, Ashraya Charitable Trust took initiative in distributing the food prepared from Ashrayadhama to the needy people in bus stands, railway stations, and temples. About 200 people benefited from the program .This program continued for 21 days from the day of first lockdown in the country.
